While FG MAY have been possible, it would have been an expensive option in 2000. When my 2003 KSCA was built, the majority of Newmar coaches were still getting Brite-Tek (sp) roofing material.

Looking at the brochure on Newmars website, it seems that it has the rubber roof, I do not see a option for a fiberglass one.
"Rubber roof w/9mm decking" is how it is wrote.

Yes it is possible.

The standard roof was Brite-Tek. However the 2000 DS could be ordered with a fiberglass roof. I know of another owner on another forum that ordered his 2000 DS with the fiberglass roof. So it's possible that yours was ordered with one also.

Agreed, our 2000 DSDP 3865 had the optional fiberglass roof. It was not a single sheet though, as I remember it was three separate sheets with lap joints. When we ordered the '02 DSDP 4090 we just went with the BriteTek.
Newmar has a bunch (or did back then) of options on their order sheet, plus you could special order others. It took special approval by their engineering dept. though.
