2000 Dutchstar Slide retract problems

The slide on my Dutchstar goes out without any issues. The retraction on the other hand is a bear. I hit my switch, the voice warnings work. The slide moves in about 6 inches and stops. I hit the switch again, all the warnings work and fully extends. I go outside and have my wife hit the switch. I apply pressure against the outside of the slide and it retracts as long as I apply pressure.
Where are the controller and switches located on this unit? It is the 38 foot DP on Spartan chassis. Finding locations of electrical controllers and fuses has been a real challenge.
Thank you for any assistance. I have read previous posts on slideout problems and gone through the manuals without much success.

A belated welcome to iRV2. First post I see.
The living room slide controller , on my 99, is under the kitchen sink.
The load sense shut down is adjustable, and I have had to on occasion help the slide up the first ramp of it's retraction. In the first foot the slide goes up a 45 degree ramp. When you make adjustments on the control, do so in small increments , as the same adjustment effects the out stop, and can strain the slide trim when the slide hits the out stop.
I've found fuses and 12v C/Bs in 10 locations so far. keep notes when you find them.
Here's a picture of my control, mark the start point of the adjustment , before you start.

Welcome to the forum and irv2.
The pot on your controller has to be adjust very slightly until your slide gets up the ramp.
Doing so will increase voltage to the motor. Its a good idea to check the connections for the motor especially if its exposed to the weather outside near your LP tank.
When I say adjust in small increments its just that or you can do damage to the slide itself.
Here is a link found in QT's 1 & 2 for your year slides.
The controller maybe under your kitchen cabinets or inside the hutch next to slide, bathroom wall, depends on your model coach.
Here is a Brochure and Owners Guide for you.
Down below in my signature are links to many more that will relate to your Newmar.

On my 2000 DSDP the slides will be balky from time to time. When they are I just make sure ALL the 12v lights are off. It's enough to give the slides that little extra oomph.

I just acquired this unit this past May. The first time I extended the slide, it went too far and crunch sound when it hit the extend limit. So I think someone had adjusted the controller a bit too far. Since then I just remained by the switch and shut it before it got to that point.
Thank you all for your assistance!! Through your experiences I now have information on the locations and fixes!!
