2000 KSDP HWH Rear Jacks

I'm trying to be prepared for when the jack springs need replacing on my unit. I can read the model of the front jacks, but it is impossible to read the model number on the rear jacks.

The front jacks are 1,200 lb, model 16997. They have a 13" range.

I'll appreciate any help.

Wil

I have a 2002 KSDP and my coach has the same jack all the way around, they are AP16997. I just ordered replacement springs for all four. Hwh said the part number for the spring kit is R91642.

Thanks! Could you read the model on the rear jacks? Newmar started keeping records on the jacks in 2002, but don't have info for 2000.

I'm also betting they're much more than 1,200# units. Ours are 12,000# rams on our DSDP.

Slip of a "0". They are 12,000 jacks. Isn't it interesting that NewMar put 4 12,000 lb. jacks on a 24,000 MH?

Thanks for the info!

You can verify which jacks you have if you know the system series on this link found in QT's 1 & 2.
That's 12,000 lbs each wheel location I would say.

Newmar tends to put higher rated equipment on than some other manufacturers, unless of course it's the front axle! We had a 12,000# front axle, at delivery the front weighed 12,050 if I filled the diesel and propane tanks, before we ever got aboard. We now have a 14,600# axle and I went from 275/70 to 305/70 tires to stay in the present wheel wells and still be able to use the full axle capacity.

Verification

I have now been able to read the name pate on the rear HWH jacks by using Awesome cleaner and water to get rid if all the gunk. Then I discovered the nameplate was secure behind the shipping cover that has never been removed.

The nameplate verified that the jack was model 16997. The HW catalog shows the replacement spring to be number R91642

I should also note that I believe Newmar give us a great product. Not only are these jacks rated at 12,000 lbs each for a 24,000 MH, but the base plates that contact the ground are 10" x 10". Most other units have 10" diameter plates -- 100 sq. in. vs 78.5 sq. in.

It has all turned out well, and I will order and carry a set of springs for the day on the road that a spring fails.

Thanks to all who have responded to my request.
