Thanks for everyone's help so far. It's been great and has really helped us!

Wow! Since 1/4 cup per 15 gal is the standard dose, I guess you terminated all the critters with extreme prejudice.

On both our DSDP's the vent went up out of the tank, across forward then down and out. There was a rubber "duckbill" flapper valve over the end that went below the bottom of the bay. On the 2000 I had to raise the tube in order to keep it from starting a siphon and partly emptying the tank.

If it was new, I would keep the chemical warfare on a low level. I saw things in the system of the fifteen year old rig that made me want to essentially nuke any living thing in the fresh water system.

Extreme.
Prejudice.

It just might be enough. My brother has an infant. They're not into taking chances with water they might drink. It will take a while to get all of the chlorine taste out, but there won't be anything living in the system.

I'm probably a bit OCD, but I only drink and cook with bottled water in any RV.

Been RV'ing since 1957, have never done anything but use the tank water for everything, but I do keep a filter on the incoming too.
