2003 Mountain Aire Purchase

Tomorrow Im driving 2 hours to look at a one owner 2003 3781 gasser.

Asking price is $22,500 and well worth it if it is in the condition the pictures indicate.

The Newmar brochure states that it is the 8.1L engine with a W-22 chassis.

Im guessing it has an Allison transmission, but the brochure does not state what model or what the coach towing capacity is.

Other than the normal stuff to look at, are there any Newmar or Mountain Aire specific areas I should look at?

This coach with this price point will not hang around. If I dilly-dally it will be gone, so I think the inspection is all on me.

In the big picture, $22,500 is chump change, but Im the chump and its my change..........

W-22 chassis , 8.1l and Allison 1000 series was the only engine trans combination available.

Newmar's weight and towing info, could be on an decal in the back of a kitchen cupboard.
37' coach being heavy due to length could have a low tow rating .

B-in-L's 05 Tiffin 35' on W-22 had 4,000 lb tow capacity along with a CCC ( Cargo Carrying Capacity ) under 1,200 lbs , and that was an issue.

Thats a pretty light chassis for such a large coach.

I dont want to haul around the kitchen sink but I also dont want to sweat exceeding the GVWR either.

Thanks
