There is a T-handle on the firewall that is an additional release for the slide-out. It is buried in a bunch of cabling up about where the vertical firewall ends as you move down the firewall. It is usually on the passenger side of that front firewall panel. It is hard to see until you see it and then you want to bang your head.

On my old '05 Dutch Star. There was a release bar in the middle. Hard to spot. I don't know why they can't make the handle colored so you can spot it easier.

If you had it open before your trip , I'd hazard a guess that something has gone wrong either with the rear release mechanism , or one of the slide roller bearings has broken and locked the slide in place . If memory serves my set up has six bearings .
Sorry but some one has to go under the coach to check things out.

Thank you all for the help. It does exist! There were two problems. 1. I cant see it because of my height, i had to bend way down to see it. 2. The memory is shot for not remering it from June. The pictere shows the little white t handle. One would think i would remember this but... Im going to jave to flag it some how. Again thanks. Looking at it i can see how the brarings could have been the problem.Click image for larger version

Well at least your release handle is white , most are black and buried in the wiring harness and heater hoses.
Thanks for wrapping up your post.
Safe travels.

Mine was very hard to release - need to regularly lube those rollers/rails underneath as they take a lot of road grime up front.

Thanks i never thought about servicing them. How do you do it with oil or grease? Either one will be sticky and pick up more road grit. The manual does not mention that service but you are right unless the bearings are sealed and it sounds like yours are not.

Motorcycle spray chain lube would be my first choice .

Formulated to not attract dirt.
