In my search for a Mountain Aire I've run accross a unit that the dealer supplied spec sheet shows as forced air propane heat. can anyone shed some light on the heating unit that came with the 2005 mountain Aire. My research shows hydro hot but the dealer I'm dealing with provided a 2005 spec sheet showing forced air propane. Many Thanks

We are glad you joined and I'm sure you will get some answers soon.

Please provide more details, as Newmar makes the MA in both front engine gas and rear DP models. There is about a $150,000 difference between the two! Post floorplan number if you have it. Hydro-hot may have been an optional heat source, with the propane furnace as "standard".

We have a 2005 3505 with forced air propane and it works great. Ours is a gulp "lowly gasser" but we like it, it fact we love it.

Hydro Hot was an option in 2005. I have it in my 2006 4304 and would never go back to propane heat and hot water.

Motley Crew welcome to irv2 and the Newmar forum.

As Jerry said may have been a option on 05 coach. I have been in both types of heat gas I have and friends Hydro hot. Both work well if the temp is adjusted to compensate for cool spots in coach. The Newmars come with a winter pack option which I have had in all my coachs and we have been as warm as toast.

The gas furnace has a vent powerd by fan to heat holding tank area with this option. The Hydro may just rely on the heat from heating unit in basement compartments or may have a fan asist.
Living in your area would think all coachs would have the winter option.

That LP forced air heat is pretty standard on coaches and it works fine. You will hear the blower run when it comes on though. On that MADP you probably have the heat pumps. If you do, that's great. Whenever we are on any elec power or gen -- we run the heat pumps or either run a plug in 1500 watt ceramic heater. With the Newmar insulation and dual pane windows, you will find you don't need much heat. I am trying to remember the last time we used the forced air LP heat and I can't really remember. The heat pumps do a great job down to about 34 degrees.

We actually just look at the forced air furnace a sort of a back-up source.

Thanks Spoonman-----That Dutch Star is one great machine. I know you must be enjoying it. Haven't used our's much yet but the DW retires May 1 and we're off. Hope to see some of you good folks.
