The Dutch Star is probably Newmar's top seller in the diesel line. It is a great coach and you'll find factory support to be excellent. Most Dutch Star owners love them.
Best of luck with your decision. Happy Trails!!

We've had two DSDP's a 2000 3865 and a 2002 4090. Traded the 02' off for the Magna, probably the worst thing we've ever done. Not that the Magna is bad (other then the ISX) just that the DW would have been FAR happier with a '15 4375.

Hello bs086921. I owned a 2004DSDP3810. Put about 50,000 miles on it. Traded it for a 2014DSDP3810. I love both for various reasons. The 2005DSDP will be a great coach for you. The 04 and 05's have more space than my 2014 as far as cabinets are concerned. There is good space underneath. With slides only on one side, you will have more room to move about when stopping at a rest area for lunch. I believe that you will greatly enjoy the coach.

Have the ball joint boots inspected. Those years had bad rubber boots that rotted prematurely. I just had to have the ball joints on mine replaced because of this at a cost of about $2100.

Call Newmar / Spartan with build / vin number. They will share what history they have with the coach.

Just purchased (April) a 2005 DSDP 3810. Extremely happy with ride and amenities. Enjoy!

I've owned my 2005 DSDP since this past January and have been full-timing in it for near three months. I have nothing bad to say/report about the rig - in fact, I love it. I suspect there are good ones and bad ones at this age, I'm not exactly sure how to be positive you are getting a good one. Kind of a roll of the dice, I think. Sounds like you are doing your due diligence.

Bought mine new. Still love it. Everything works, not even a burned out light bulb!
