Is this feature supposed to be able to start the AC units in the summer IF there is a CG power failure? I keep pets in the coach and worry about such an event during the heat of the summer. I have found a series of knob settings in the bathroom cabinet and set the Invertor to activate the AGS and set the temp to 65 but when I kill shore power, nothing happens..the gen will start when it turn the temp setting knob a little bit, but not by itself...those little knobs are very NON SPECIFIC as to where they are set, and will turn > 360 degrees..any help???

The auto start feature for Gen was for the recharge of your batteries if you had the use of an invertor. The air would be running thru the invertor. I maybe wrong but maybe this will drawin the discussion.

Hi! What brand inverter do you have? The AC units will only work thru the Generator. My coach has a Magnum 3100 Watt inverter with Auto Start. We ordered an all electric coach so they upgrade to the Magnum. Let me know if you have the Magnum. You might have the 2000 Watt Xantrex. Paul

I am sorry I probably can't help because all the set up parameters on the Magnum are probably different. Do you have a seperate control besides the knob settings in the bathroom? Ours are located up in the front cabinet where all the other junk is. If you do you should be able to go into the settings to set it up. We also have the knobs in bathroom. Paul

the only thing up front is to enable or disable the autogenstart or test it...which works..the knob settings in back are confusing, since they rotate > 360 degrees and seem meaningless in function

Does the control board have a MFG name on it or just a Newmar name. If you could look on back of board there maybe a name. If there is than maybe you could find on the web the info for operation. Last resort call Newmar tech for instructions or a spec paper on the operation of these knobs.

footdoc, I'm at Howard RV and will have some time in the morning to get the straight scoop on what the auto gen start will and will not do..

I need to get a refresher course on my own auto gen start, so I'll jump in one of the '06 MADP's here and get a quick lesson...
