2006 MADP - Trying to locate coaxial cable from Winegard antenna

Still too cold to work outside so I have started some inside projects.

I am trying to locate the coaxial cable that comes from the Winegard batwing antenna.

There is a hole in the wall where 4 grey coaxial cables come through. I assume one must be from the batwing ??

I think the other 3 were likely from the original satellite tv antenna.

2 questions please:

How would I best be able to figure out which of the 4 grey coaxial wires is from the batwing antenna ?

I assume that there is a power injector somewhere for the batwing antenna. I have looked on all the walls on the front half of the coach looking for a switch panel with a push button switch and Red light ?

If it is not inside the coach any idea where it could be ? Want to verify that it is providing power.

thanks in advance...

You should have a switch box in the cab above the driver seat. On its back side should be the cable from the antenna. From my recent experience, I found that my power injector is the switch box. I validated the voltage by attaching another short coax and testing the middle wire V. At 1st check its was ~5V, then after some jiggling of the buttons, it finally hit ~13V. From what I was told you can also disassemble the mechanism that is used to raise the batwing and feel around for the wires inside.

Hope this helps!

PS. If none of the wires are hooked up, just trying connecting each to the switch box to see which one provides you with the best reception.

It sounds like your BOMB - box of many buttons - has been removed. Be thankful that someone saved you that effort.

Those four coax cables should be:

1. One from the outside coax connector used to connect to campground cable.
2. Two from the obsolete satellite dish that was/is on your roof.
3. One from the over the air antenna.

To figure out which one goes to the OTA antenna:

First go on the roof and disconnect the two from the sat antenna and the one from the OTA antenna. Then short the center to the side by using a termination cap or aluminum foil on the OTA antenna. Then go inside and test each coax for continuity between the center and the side. The one that shows continuity is the OTA antenna.

I believe that the BOMB acted as the power inserter.

Like "bentjm" said, use an ohm meter to check for continuity.
