2007 Dutchstar engine air filter

I changed the air filter on my 2007 Dutchstar on the Spartan chassis.I put the new one back exactly the way the old one come out.My question is at the top left of the rear cap is where the inlet pipe draws air.Where does the rain water go?
Thanks,Tom

Typically, if you look at the pipe coming down from the rear cap, there will be a small tube, built into the bend where the tube turns towards the engine. It has an end piece called a "duck bill" as it looks like a ducks mouth. It's rubber and opens when it gets the pressure of water behind it. Usually they're hidden under a bunch of foam insulation.

2007 Dutchstar air filter

Ok,when I removed the clamp on the inlet tube the whole tube came out. When I reinstalled the tube it went thru a hole cut out of the insulation.I don’t recall seeing a duck bill attached to the pipe.I’m sure all is ok.Just don’t want the turbo to ingest water.I can’t see it fitting any other way.
Thanks,Tom

I don't know how they did it in 2007. Sometimes the tube, where it picks up air in the rear cap, sticks higher into that opening and any water, drains out a small hole below the height of the tube.

I wouldn't worry too much about which they did it, since you haven't had issues.
