From the Yahoo Newmarowners group;

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content"> We can order 2008 models now. May/June delivery in most cases. All
Newmar diesel for 2008 will have the TRW's Comfort Drive. Price
increases are in the 6-8% range, so Newmar worked hard to hold prices
down.

For example, Newmar's best selling DSDP floorplan was the 4304. It
went up $18,918 or 6.56% on the base msrp. However, the Comfort Drive
and a 425 HP Cummins ISL is now standard along with a few other things
like a 32 in LCD in the front overhead.

Very interesting, Dirk. The ISL at 425 HP. I guess the torque is still 1200 ft. lbs. as that's the tranny limited on the 3000 series. Thanks for posting it. I don't ever go to that forum.

More interesting is the Comfort Drive on all diesel models.

I'm surprised it would be on all diesels, but this could be preliminary info.

However, Lee usually has correct info.

The increase in HP on the ISL may be at the expense of increased governed RPM. It seems that is the way they increase HP on some of their marine application models. The Comfort Drive is a BIG success on the available units now, so it makes sense to jump it to all before the competition can offer it,

Sounds like Lee Litchfield is trying to get a jump on the other dealers as I was specifically told NOT to divulge what I saw in Nappanee...

Comfort Drive is indeed on all diesel pushers for 2008 as it is Newmar's last year of exclusivity...

I intend to contact Lee and ask his motives.

Bob,

I do know the dealers were coming in the week after you left Nappanee for briefings. I think it is then public knowledge.

Maybe I'm wrong, but a lot of folks seem to know about this now.

Scott, I was under the impression, possibly in error, that these announcements were made later.

They will have these units at the FMCA International next weekend.

Ken,

Free camping at my camgground this summer while you retrofit my coach w/CD.

Consider it R&D on a new offering from TRW.

For those interested in 2008 model info, Lee Litchfield, owner of Lee's RV is providing some info on the Yahoo Newmarowners group.

Too much to copy over here.

Pretty much describing the new FRED chassis Grand Star, the new King Aire on the K3 chassis...

Watch here for real time pictures of these units from the Perry Rally next week,as Yahoo has no way of posting real time pictures...

They'll be online as soon as I can go there and take them and come back to the bus and upload them...
