Time to change the tires on our coach and find the michelins 235 80 22.5 are recommended. What other size can I put safely on the coach that will fit say goodyear or other brands?

Hi Joan hetzend,
Welcome to posting in the Newmar Owners Forum. Why are you considering a change in Brand and/or size? The tires that came with the coach are chosen to carry the GAWR with a safety margin. Michelin tires, properly maintained will last 10 years (mine do). If you use another Brand or size they need to be rated to carry the same weight as the Michelins now installed on the coach.

I would not advise changing size. Too many problems with that. Changing brands is a personal choice. I have Bridgestones on mine and they have done great by me. Michelins are more expensive. Just remember most tires will age out before they wear out.

245/75R22.5 is the equivalent size in tire brands other than Michelin. There are important nuances to tire size changes, though, even with tires that are nearly identical in size and load capacity. Things like rim width and wheel offset can make a difference in dual spacing and clearance between the tire and other important bits like fender openings and steering components. A good tire shop can walk you through it, and should test-fit the new tires to ensure proper clearance before the sale is complete.
