2010 Bay Star Slide alignment

Ok this was all my fault. I commented while parking that I was leaving enough room for the slide and took off to pay for the CG space. Well when I got back the slide (big one, drivers side) was out and rather firmly against a tree at the frint corner and now its a bit out of alignment - it goes out about 3/4” less in the front now. On quick inspection I didn't see how this is adjusted. I can look into it through various resources but thought Id check here first. It still closes and locks (front and rear) but the bottom rear corner is out 3/4” when its closed. I also get to see how close my touch-up paint matches....

I would call Newmar. I think the adjustments are the threaded long bolts under the slide on the outside.

I think so too. Ill have more time to look at it when I get to my destination and will be there two weeks, but calling Newmar is probably the best bet. I also want to set up a tour for my return trip. Want to look at the New Aire line and ask some questions.

It seems to be about half corrected after bouncing along Pennsylvania and New York state highways yesterday. All back roads in New England today.

I suspect your trans torque bushing has slipped a little and needs to be readjusted. There's no reason why the threaded rod slide stop would have changed because of contact with an object.

It seemed a little bowed. Now to identify the trans-torque bushing and adjust it...

Thank You!

Quick trip to the Rochester Home depot for a 1 1/2” end wrench (and about a dozen other things I didn't know I needed) and following the instructions provided, realigned the slide to near perfection. Close enough for who its for, as my carpenter buddy says. Success! Thanks again!

Just wanted to say thanks again for the perfect info and references on this. It really sucked driving around with a misaligned slide - didn't like that at all. And once it was fixed, what a relief!

The only down side is that as I was finishing the job, I hit the compartment door with my head, releasing the catch, causing it to fall, and quickly tried to catch it, with my right hand, which was still holding the 16” long end wrench, and subsequently smacked myself in the anterior maxilla ( front teeth) and re-broke a tooth that Ive already broken three times.

The good news is that the dead front tooth, with the broken roots, and the root canal, and the chips and bondo, is still hanging in there, tight although a bit sensitive, and the dentist that said I was going to lose it in 2006 and needed a $6000 implant, complete with a cadaver ass-bone implant, is still wrong!

He didn't like it much when I questioned his judgement, and admittedly it was more about having a piece of a dead guys ass in my mouth than the money, but 13 years and some additional trauma later, I can safely say I was right and he was wrong. So there, All’s well that ends well
