Just wanted to say thanks again for the perfect info and references on this. It really sucked driving around with a misaligned slide - didn't like that at all. And once it was fixed, what a relief!
The only down side is that as I was finishing the job, I hit the compartment door with my head, releasing the catch, causing it to fall, and quickly tried to catch it, with my right hand, which was still holding the 16” long end wrench, and subsequently smacked myself in the anterior maxilla ( front teeth) and re-broke a tooth that Ive already broken three times.
The good news is that the dead front tooth, with the broken roots, and the root canal, and the chips and bondo, is still hanging in there, tight although a bit sensitive, and the dentist that said I was going to lose it in 2006 and needed a $6000 implant, complete with a cadaver ass-bone implant, is still wrong!
He didn't like it much when I questioned his judgement, and admittedly it was more about having a piece of a dead guys ass in my mouth than the money, but 13 years and some additional trauma later, I can safely say I was right and he was wrong. So there, All’s well that ends well
