2013 Bay Star; no dash heat?

I camped for the first time this weekend and had a chance to really enjoy the new-to-us RV, all the coach items were fine but the Ford F53 dash heat did not seem very hot (had it turned all the way clockwise to hot and the fan an level #2. Just not much more than slightly warm. Any suggestions??? I wondered if there was a by-pass for the heating coils for summer use but where would I find that sort of valve??? Also, is there a fuse that I should check out, where would I find it?? Thanks for your help!! Daryl. We just bought this RV in December. would like to avoid dealers and manage myself if possible.

Newmar dash HVAC systems are usually Evans Tempcon, use this link to find a control panel that looks like yours and click on it for a bunch of troubleshooting guides. Newmar usually does not use the cable control system so you should be able to eliminate that type even though the panels look the same.

Hi Daryl molly,
I know this is going to sound dumb, but here goes. Because you mentioned you were camping, were you stationary or traveling when trying the dash heater? The heater works only when traveling and the engine is up to operating temperature. Also, if possible place the air direction on recirculate. Avoid drawing in fresh air. There is no need to bring in fresh air, like a car. The coach has enough ways to allow fresh air into the coach.

Hi, Yes I was driving the RV down the road and it certainly had long enough to get up to temp (2 hours). Thanks.
