2013 Dutch Star Plugged In Always

This my first year with our 2013 Dutch Star. I have it hooked up to a 50 amp service at my house, on a slab. I live in Greensboro NC and plan on keeping it plugged in year round, when no it traveling. I have an Oasis heater that should keep the under bay temp warm enough for the temps we get here. I plan on keeping the inside temp in the 50’s and check the batteries monthly.

Do any of you more experienced RVers see any issues with this, our would you suggest that I also winterize?

I have had mine un-winterized and plugged in up here in South Dakota, with the Oasis burner on, no issues even at well below zero.

This was for only a couple months. I wouldn't even be concerned down where you are.

But I do check on it everyday, below zero twice a day.

We used electric heaters and insulated out compartments in our Canyon Star and had no issues in Raleigh, NC. I did have remote temp sensors with alarms set up just in case the heaters had issues.

With the built-in insulation Newmar uses on Dutch Star and above and the Oasis heat I agree you'll have no issues. IIRC the Oasis will automatically switch to diesel if the electric elements don't do the job so you have some backup.

I don’t know how it would switch to diesel. I’ve had the oasis fans blowing cool air when the electric elements couldn’t keep up. You have to turn the burner on.
Maybe you’re thinking of the fact it will switch to furnace when the heat pump won’t keep up.

The Edge, you should be fine in N.C. and keeping it plugged in to your 50 amp will have your batteries ready to go.
My coach, here in N.E. was always plugged in when at home just had to run Gen and exercise the AC's,check batteries every month until I changed them to AGM's with less of a mess.
