Community question:

Looked at the rig today and the generator hours on the dash said zero......on the generator it said 344.

The Engine hours said 178 hours but the mileage was only 5400....

Am I missing something.....

On my 2011 DSDP 4020 , the generator hours do not show at all on the dash display with a Freightliner chassis.
My engine hours & mileage show correctly, about 35000 miles , 700 hours = about 50 miles per hour .
Did the rig ever have an oil change or other proven service at Freightliner ,Spartan or Cummins ? Was the rig driven by the little old lady
from Pasadena ? Looks like they did only local trips and some dry camping.

5400 miles at 50 miles/hr would give 108 hrs. That'd leave 70 hrs uncounted for, which could easily be explained away with a slightly slower average speed plus some time for idling one a month.

I just saw a post on this a few days ago but can't find it. There is something a bit funky about both the Odometer and generator hours.

To read the odometer you need turn the HEADLIGHTS ON with the IGNITION OFF.

To read generator hours you need to turn the GENERATOR ON with the IGNITION OFF

At least I THINK this is what I read a few days ago.

Attached is a picture of the diagram covering this issue.

MY generator hours are and always were 0.0 in the LCBU display, no matter if IGN is ON, engine running or not , headlights On or OFF makes no difference on my rig. I guess the gen. is just not connected to the LCBU.
The hours on the generator are about 135.
I'm not sure if the LCBU shows the generator hours on newer motor homes
with the FL chassis.

I have a 2015 London Aire. The gen hrs do not show. They are not hooked up to the info bar.

On my Ventana, gen hours do not show inside.

Like many have said. The Gen Hrs do not show on my Freightliner. The engine hours sound correct or at least could be correct for the mileage. The genset hrs seem reasonable.

You never said how old the coach was.
