2013 Newmar 2901??

I am new here, wondered what to look out for on a used 2013 Newmar Bay Star 2901?? I am thinking of purchasing and wondered what issues I might face. Currently in a 2006 Itasca Navion which we love but it is a bit small. Thanks in advance for the info! Daryl.

You can find the 3013 Bay Star brochure here: http://www.newmarcorp.com/resources/brochures-archive/

We owned tow Newmars, both Dutch Star DP's. Good, well built rigs.

Hi Daryl molly,
Welcome to iRV2 and the Newmar Owners Forum. There are no chronic problems with the unit you are looking at. Make sure you do all the regular due diligence. A bit of math may be involved.
1. The floor plan meets your needs.
2. The coach will carry you, your family and all your stuff. GVWR minus UVW = approximate carrying capacity. These numbers should be on the back of one of the cabinet doors.
3. The coach will tow what you want to tow. GCVWR minus GVWR = maximum towing capacity.

After the above are met, one can make the decision as complicated as one wants to make it.

When shopping for an rv the 2013 Bay Star 2901 was my favorite, for me this model was superior to the 2903 which followed in '14 and '15. I liked the ds slide with four windows which when extended provided a nice solarium with excellent ventilation. Finding a unit for sale in the PNW was the problem. We did locate a fine 2901 with very low mileage, but alas it was in western Canada and still a considerable distance from us.
You will find the 2901 very nimble and easy to drive anywhere. I had no problem with our previous 29 footer. Even in the central core of large cities, I was able to find curbside parking. I never felt the need for pulling a toad with the short rvs.
The length parameters of the motorhome was my first criteria, floor plan was secondary.
Good luck I hope you locate a dandy 2901.
