2013 Newmar Canyon Star

Looking at the new 2013 Canyon Star 3953 or 3940. Has anyone driven or just purchased. Wondering how does it drive and handle. Is there leg room in the drivers seat? Any other thoughts?

Thanks

Happy Rving!

Hi axle234 - While I don't have the particular model Canyon Star you refer to, I do own a 2010 3647 model which is a couple feet shorter. It drives and handles fine for a gasser and I'm confident you would be happy with either model you're looking at. As for leg room, I am 6'3" and generally have to move my seat forward when driving. The Ford chassis (F53) with the V-10 has plenty of power for most driving, flat land or mountains. Personally, I love the 3953 floor plan, probably would be my choice if I were in the market right now. Good luck in your search.

Just ordered a 2013 3953. Drove one about 10 miles. Since this was my first time driving a class a I don't if my opinion will help much. We traded up from a class c. I thought it drove fine. I am 6'01' 270# and had plenty of room. I was more worried about the length than anything. It turns quicker and tighter than I expected.

kyrvr - I am SO jealous. Please be sure and post more info and LOTS of pictures when you get your coach. If you're close enough to Newmar's plant in Nappanee, you might consider visiting while your unit is being built. I did and it was awesome.......saw the coach built from base chassis to unit with roof and walls with partial insides over 2-3 days and took lots of pictures. Even got invited up on scaffold to drive some screws while roof was being installed by some of the Amish workers (with apologies to OSHA). Neat experience and gained some insight into the bones of my unit.
