2014 DS exterior graphics ...
Anyone who has received or ordered one of the new 2014 Dutch Stars ...
I know Newmar will let you customize a lot of things, but what about the exterior design?
Maybe it is just me, but I am less than enthused about that "feather" design, and would prefer something simpler. I think I have read that some of you changed up the colors, but Does anyone know if they allow changes to the design???

I case you missed it this is Pessman's wife rendering of what they hope their 2014 coach will look like, first design.
And this is what, is now they hope, the paint shop is in the process of completing on their new 2014.
The Hoot's are gathering around to witness the big event.

Yes, I have followed their thread, and had seen that, but I believe the only changes are changing colors ... it still has the 2014 "feather" design, which is what I want eliminated.

... since they’re all standard Newmar colors, no problem. We just plugged them into the 2014 DS graphics...

Can we request the 2013 designs? PDR John's coach is gorgeous! I love the 2014 Ventana LE design, and the Mountain Aire ... if anyone hears anything, please post.
Thx!

Welcome to the thread. You can do just about ANY paint and graphics scheme you want. If you want to eliminate the feathered (swoosh) design, go for it. Of course, it then becomes a "Special" and has engineering and design costs associated with it. Contact Michelle Howard at Newmar. I recall conversations with her about Newmar owners creating a Crimson Tide motif for their Alabama tailgating parties.
As long as you use standard Newmar colors, the cost is kept at a minimum. When you go outside the norm, then it gets expensive. If, for example, you wanted to emulate the design scheme from one of their other models, no problem. We took the 2013 Canyon Star "Seaglass" colors as you've read and applied them to 2014 DS graphics in a different order. The cost for us doing so was negligible.
With Newmar it's simply a matter of deciding what you'd like and running it up the flagpole! I'd say you'll get the flag to the top 85-90% of the time. I contrast that with another major manufacturer who essentially told us "What you see is what you get".......so we came over from the "Dark Side"...

You can change colors but I don't think you can change the graphics of the model year.

That's correct. We still had to incorporate the colors into a DS graphic scheme. However, we did get emails from Newmar and dealer which indicated the possibility of making modifications to the design. Never tested the theory. Not sure whether the folks who did those changes did so after market elsewhere. I can understand how Newmar wants hto maintain the integrity of the DS model year look, but I would imagine if an owner wanted to paint "Roll Tide" on the side of a Crimson DS, that's their prerogative. Like Mission Impossible, Newmar would "disavow any knowledge".....

That would truly be great ... colors are not a problem, just the feather! LOL!
Just got finished re-reading your thread and went to see your pics - you can't help but grin when someone is so obviously thrilled as it all comes together.
Thx

My wife had the same reaction to the design, she didn't like (or hated) the feathers. If they have to stay with the model year graphics, at least some colors make the feathers less obtrusive.
