2014 DS Oasis Hot Water

I have read the Oasis manual and I am still slightly confused. This is what I understand :

1. Ensure there is water going into coach either city or from the fresh water tank.

Does there have to be water in the fresh tank if hooked to city for the Oasis to work?

2. Turn on Oasis unit.

3. Turn on burner or AC or both.

4. Wait How long? To get hot water.

Am I missing anything?

More questions to come. Thanks

2014 DS Oasis Hot Water

Just attended Newmar rally and Oasis was there. No, there does not need to be "fresh" water in the coach for the oasis to run. It can be used only as a furnace if you wish.

Please don't confused the fresh water with the antifreeze which is needed for the unit to work.

So, you can have water in the tank or you can hook up directly to city water in order to get hot water. Doesn't matter which.

Hot Water is very quick with burner and not so quick with electric. I'd say just a few minutes.

Thank you. That is what I though.

Antifreeze level is good.

Going to give it a shot.

Also, if you only use the electric heating elements it takes 5-10 minutes for hot water. If you turn on the burner you get hot water almost instantly.
