2014 Dutch Star Questions

While patiently waiting (NOT) for our coach to be built, began wondering about how to organize all our "stuff" into the new coach. No hurry, but can somebody measure and share the approximate clearance from the floor of a slide out tray to the frame rail? Also, the clearance from a compartment floor to ceiling?

For the amount we spent, you would think I would know the answer to the next question, but I'm not sure. What is the compartment configuration on the drivers side for a 4018 FWS? I know the front compartment is shallow and has the 12v electric panels, and the next (behind the front tire) is the battery compartment. We do have propane (for the stove). Does the tank share the battery compartment, or does it have its own door? Pretty sure the electric is in front of the rear tires, and the water bay in front of it. Is there another compartment, or with propane is the pass thru the only available compartment on the drivers side?

Guess while I'm showing how little I know about what I spent so much money on, just want to confirm there are 3 compartments available on the passenger side, not counting the pegboard compartment?

Thanks for all the help, this forum is great! Please be patient with me as I settle in and the new wears off a bit. 😁

You should read the HOOT's threads in QT's # 3 they are lengthy but would have most of your answers and one thread has pictures of his coach being built.
You will have ample storage inside and out.

BattChief … Here are a few links to some items I did to my coach to improve storage and overall usability. There are lots of great ideas on the forum from members that your can pick and choose from. Please post your mods as you do them. We do not have the propane tank, so not sure I can answer your questions on storage/doors on the FWS side.

Also my #1 recommendation is to get a surge protector installed as soon as you can. It's very cheap insurance.

Thanks for the link, 007. I have searched and read posts until my eyes cross, and come back and do it again! The links really help! I typically read on my ipad, and still learning how to do some things that were natural for me on my laptop. After learning and using PC's from DOS to Windows, the "intuitive" nature of an ipad is at times foreign to me. As I become better at searching and learn to attach links and pics, maybe I can help others with answers instead of always asking questions. In time...

FLSteve, thanks for the links! Your shelf idea for the basement will probably be one of the first things I do. We have the same Progressive EMS in our current rig, and will be moving it to the new one. I will continue to peruse your mods, and probably steal more than one of your ideas! Thanks!

Compartments should be same height as the 13s.

Basement floor to bottom of frame 16".

Basement ceiling to basement floor 25".

Thanks! I was wondering if the tubs I had will fit in the tray, and what kind of room we had in the compartments that don't have a tray. That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
