2014 Dutchstar - What Problems Have You Had?

I am considering purchase of a 2014 Dutchstar. What major problems did that model year have if any? Was the full wall slide mechanism a problem on that model year? Other problems?

We bought our 2014 DS in May of 2016 thru Midway RV. We have been very happy with this coach. It is our second DS and both purchased at Midway. This coach was well maintained by the previous owner and I have continued to follow suit. Yes I check and monitor all the slide motor bolts. There have been a couple of Freightliner recalls that you need to follow up on.

John, I am aware of the slide motor bolt problem. Was that the only slide issue or have they actually changed the slide mechanism due to problems with the early full wall slides? Thanks for the information.

My FWS on my 2014 DS 4018 is completely electric. I purchased used last September. Had several recalls done. No significant issues other than the trans torque bushing had to be readjusted on the bedroom slide and the right front jack retracts on its own (slowly over weeks) .

You might call Newmar Customer Service with the coach build number or VIN and they can get you a copy of the build sheet and any recall info.

That is what I did. If I remember correctly, it was a ECM flash and something with the brake pedals. On the Newmar side, a updated refrig travel lock, microwave keypad, and a fix for the baggage locks.
You can also use the Comnet link in the stickies, if you have the build number, to check recalls as well.
When I had my first service at Freightliner, I had them adjust the ride height to Freightliner suggestions.

Thanks for all the input. I missed buying that one so guess I am back to looking. Appears a 2015 or later would be preferred since it has the new body design and associated enhancements.

We have a 2015. Solid coach. Just a few recalls but all easily done. Ten or so on rv trader when I recently looked.
