2014 Newmar furniture/Slide/ Platform

Hello,

I'm new to Irv2 and I have a question about a 2014 Newmar Dutch Star 4018 that I'm thinking of buying.

The coach seems good except that it has a carpeted 3" platform on the passenger side slide that has two swivel recliners. Nice furniture, but I want to replace them and put a sleeper couch there and don't want that platform.
Not sure what might be under there if I remove.

Question is: Has anyone ever heard of having a 3" platform on this MH. I cant figure out why they put that there.

Any help/opinions would be appreciated.

Could you post a picture of this 3" platform? I believe you should just have a carpeted slide with furniture resting on top of that, no platform.

Thank you. You are right the platform is suppose to be there.
I called newmar and they explained that I will need to purchase a notched sofa for the passenger side slide.

Welcome to the forum.
Many coach's have a platform on a slide whats on them can be removed and screw with clamp for hold down thru carpet to wood floor on slide with no problem.
Here is a thread on different slides there operation and possible problems they may have.
