2015 Canyon Star 3610

Hello Newmar Owners
First Post.

I'm looking at a 2015 CS model 3610. I'm interested in the steel support system. Can't find any info.

I've been on the Newmar site and reviewed the videos. ALL info relates to diesel chassis 'STAR' construction. Nothing about the gas chassis floor support system. I called Newmar today and spoke with customer service. Polite but no clue. So I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Basic question, What is the steel support system construction. Is there any info available or does anyone have pics of the support system Newmar uses for the gas chassis?

Do the walls and roof rest on the floor construction? Looking at the 2015 brochure it appears the walls do rest on the sub floor construction.

Very much appreciate any help and info.

Best
David

Welcome to the forum and irv2.
Here is a link with important info related to Newmars and links to see the inner workings of a Newmar.-- Brochure -- Owners Guide.
The NEWMAR CORP link has construction video's of chassis and wall construction and many other items. --

WALL CONSTRUCTION

When a new gas chassis comes into Newmar the chassis rails have a arch to the surface as you see when looking at a empty truck trailer bed, when it leaves the chassis shop the rails are completely flat ready for the build on the Newmar model ordered, the under structure is well reinforced to support the coach body.
All coach's gas or diesel are built on same floor by the same builders of gas or diesel.
All links in my signature have answers for gas or diesel problems in your Newmar.
Enjoy the forum and good luck in your per suite of what ever coach you get.

What is your concern regarding the actual build of the MH itself, and the connection to the chassis. If it is the ride, I think you will find that Newmar does a better job of engineering the MH body to the Chassis, than most manufacturers. It is very balanced in weight distribution, rides great, tracks well, does not get pushed around by wind/big trucks, has a fairly quiet ride, and is real solid.

Yes sir, I'm more interested then concerned. Newmar does such an excellent job of telling the story of their 'STAR' steel support for their diesel coach, but leaves the gas customer looking for answers. I have no doubt Newmar does a "better then most" manufacturers. That said, they appear to be equal when it comes to showing-casing their gas coaches. I'm looking at a 2015 CS. I've reviewed all the brochures & available information. I have yet to find any info on just how the steel supports fastened to the F53 Ford chassis are installed to carry the weight of the coach. Again, they show exactly how the diesel is constructed but nothing on the gas. Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.....David

The Star Steel support is for the heavier HWH FWS System, which the Ford chassis does not carry, the FWS is still the Newmar FWS System which is a lighter slide system.
This link explains the Newmar FWS System.
The chassis support framing has been built the same way with additional support over the years since they have built coach's on gas coach chassis's.
All coach's gas or diesel chassis's were built the same until 2016 and the HWH FWS System was used by Newmar.
