2015 DS energy management ques.
Our DS has been idle but plugged into a 20 amp circuit. Only thing left on is the frig. Oasis is off and zone 1,2 & 3 are off.
I scroll through the panel and it shows 15amp on water heater element 2. Anybody know what this means?

check Oasis buttons in main control panel
In the Oasis section of your main control panel, check to make sure that the AC heat button is in the middle (off) position rather than pushed to the left for one Oasis electric burner or to the right for both Oasis electric burners.

Which panel are you scrolling through? Do you have any other indication that suggests you are drawing 15 amps? I leave my coach exactly as you described during summer months. I set the energy management input from 30 to 20 amps. I plug into a 15 amp outlet. The storage lot tells me not to draw more than 3 or 4 amps. I don't think they can meter it. But, I never have problems. Perhaps you are reading that 15 amps are available for the electric heater? Just a thought, hope it helps.

Well, maybe that's it. Saying I have 15 amps available. Thanks

Since no one has answered this yet...
The 15A displayed there is an indication of the amount of current that the water heater was drawing the last time the EMS shut it down. It may be that you had the switch turned on at some point when you plugged into your 20A circuit. The EMS would very quickly shed that load.
You can try starting one of your AC units when plugged into the 20A circuit. The EMS will quickly shed the AC and show you how many amps it was drawing when it was shed. It does this so that it learns how many amps each appliance draws and can better make load shedding decisions in the future.
The attachment explains it fully as well as describes the other features like inverter assist.

I am also new to the energy management system so should you always reset the panel to match your shore power?

If you are on 50A power, it will detect that and you do not need to do anything. However, If you are on less than 50A, you should adjust it to as closely as possible match your shore power connection. This ensures the load shedding works correctly and is very important if you are on less than 50A. So if at a park with only a 30A connection, make sure the EMS is set to that (It will only allow you to set 30A, 20A and 15A (15A only if you have the latest version)). You can then freely run whatever you need and the system will shed the water heaters, AC and block heater as needed. If you run the stove top, microwave and dryer at the same time, it will turn off any battery charging and also engage the Inverter Assist function to try to meet the power demand. If you try to run too many things, like the stove top, microwave, dryer, dishwasher and washing machine, then something has to give and you may trip the main breaker.
When plugged into storage, set it to 20A or 15A as appropriate.

It only knows the difference between 50 amp and 30 amp. It doesn't know 30 from 20 or 15, that is why you need to tell the max amperage you have plugged it into if you didn't plug it into a 50 amp plug.
It knows 50 amp because it comes in as 240 volt.
If you had a properly wired 50 amp plug, but only being fed 30 amps, the coach would not know it and would green light everything to be used.
