2015 Dutch Star: Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan
Is there anyone else a little surprised that you can only control the on/off for all the Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fans from the wall switch? In my current gasser, I have both the ability to turn the fan on/off and also to control the fan speed from the wall switch. I tried to have Newmar add a switch to control the fan speed, but this request was rejected as part of my list of specials. I understand that you can control the fan speed directly from the fan, but I'm height challenged so this would require a foot stool.

That's strange, on our 2002 DSDP we have the wall controls and can do what you want to do. It was standard way back then.

I have a temp adjustment on my 03 coach on wall also.
Here is the Fantastic line up of fans, do not know which you have and if it can be modified for temp control, they also have a remote controlled fan that must have temp control.
Here is a PFD of features.
You could call them and see if they might help you, have been known in the past as being very helpful.

The problem is that the Fantastic Vents are now controlled by the KIB multiplex control system which also controls most of the lights, the water pump and the floor heat. I believe this became standard on the Dutch Star in 2014, prior to that year they used the Fantastic Vent controller that allowed you to manually adjust the controls from the controller.
Just the price we pay to have the higher technology approach to controls!

I've added the wood louvered fan covers like in the kitchen as part of my specials for the ceiling fans in both bathrooms. I guess I'll have to pick a speed (medium most likely) directly on the fan, and then live with that speed since they will now be covered.

That's too bad that they eliminated the speed setting on the wall control! We use that a lot. Not sure about the Fantastic Fans in the '09 CC Magna we're buying. Just haven't spent enough time in it yet to figure everything out. Don't have the manuals yet either.

The wood louvers over the bathroom fans was something I missed on my specials but realized after our first trip out that if you want to adjust the fan speed you have to remove the louver to get access to the switch. I think I'll just leave the bathroom fans without the wood, doesn't look as nice but a bit more functional.

We also have a wall mount speed control in our '02, but almost always use the FF on slow speed. It moves air quite efficiently and quietly at that setting. At any higher settings it's just too loud.

I may be missing something, but I can turn my fan on off when vent crank is engaged from the wall switch. If I disengage the electric vent crank, I can adjust vent height, adjust speed and turn the vent on and off from the controls on the vent itself.

Don, I think the frustration is with the fact that the only fan control you have from the wall is on/off with the KIB multiplex system. To adjust anything else you need to do it at the fan. This is a problem in the kitchen as the wood louver panel needs to be removed in order to adjust the height of the cover or the fan speed.
Just not as convenient as the Fantastic Vent controller that mounts on the wall (which is how the Ventana is equipped).

I'm glad we decided to get the "low tech" coach.

I replaced the OEM fans with Fantastic 6600R's that have variable fan speeds depending on the temp. setting you select with the remote control. There are 14 temp. settings and the fans begin slowly in the morning, speedup as the RV heats up, and then slow down or stop at night. Replacing or upgrading your fans may be the solution because it enables you to put the remote in a convenient location for temp. sensing and access.

I like that idea.
