2015 Dutch Star - SilverLeaf Glass Dash Upgrade

I finally had a chance to get on the road and test this new upgrade . I installed the SilverLeaf VMS 645 CL glass dash in my 2015 Dutch Star in July and can say this system is awesome. I have been running the SilverLeaf VMSpc since I took delivery but this glass dash system is like VMSpc on steroids.

Absolutly no regrets spending the money on this upgrade. Great information at your fingertips and it certainly has the cool factor. I already enjoyed driving the coach but this has stepped it up a notch.

Here’s a link to photos of the system.

I didn’t think you can install heated floors on ours after delivery?

That really looks nice!

We'll have that on our New Aire -- I'm looking forward to it.

Looks great, Scot! Now that you've freed up the VMSPC tablet, what are you using it for? Map?

Thanks Phil. I have a Surface Pro that I was using for the VMSpc, I guess I'll sell it now, this glass dash is a keeper!

I did the installation, this is not something Newmar will do for you.

Scott I'll be the first to ask for install photos. Who did the original dash overlay piece for you? Did you you simply cover the original instruments. Guessing that you are going to get a lot of questions about the install...

Gary,

I built the console panel, it was a significant undertaking. I have a friend that owns a CNC machine shop and we spent many hours getting this designed and built. The panel is solid non-core carbon fiber, 1/8" thick, which is CNC machined. The old gauges are removed and the original console is modified to accept the carbon fiber interface panel.
