2015 Model Year Visible Solar Panel?

Folks, I recently saw what appears to be a small solar panel (perhaps 12" X 12") located on the top of the front cap over the driver position on several Newmar diesel pushers (even high-end ones). It is visible from the front of the coach, and, to my mind, is not very attractive. Is that, in fact, a chassis battery solar panel? If so, why did Newmar feel the need to place it so far forward as to be visible? It seems to ruin the nice clean roof area where they (wisely) removed the air horns.

Just curious what they are thinking, and hoping they made a change for 2016.

Roy

Yes. On our DS you have to be standing way back to see it. If you are ordering request that it be moved.

The panel could be on top of your air conditioner as Fleetwood mounts them.
In three coach's never had a problem where mounted in same location of the three coach's I have owned and my air horn pair are next to it up front.
End of this link explains the solar panel function and your right its only for the chassis batteries.
Information for ordering 2016 coach's.
