2015 Newmar with 4000 Onan generator noisy

MY Newmar RV has a 4000 Generator the exhausts out the passenger side. Has anyone tried to quite the exhaust by using a longer pipe and exhausting out the rear with a resonator.? It is noisy to sit outside and listen to it.

The generator manufactures get a little cautious about exhaust extensions.

If it's to long, it creates back pressure, that affects the engines power.

If you enlarge it, the exhaust may not disperse enough and could drift into the MH.

They don't recommend the gen-tury extensions either but that may send the noise up over the roof.

Check with Onan and see what they recommend. There may be an extension kit.
