2015 Ventana LE 3636 Certified Weights
On our last adventure we finally had our coach weighed on a certified truck scale. (The best $12 spent so far). The coach was fully loaded for a trip. Full fuel, water, food, clothes. Wife was in the front seat. Hydralift with 600 lb BMW R1250GSA.
Front axil weight .... 9,720 lbs. 12,000 lb max.
Rear axle weight ..... 19,520 lbs. 20,000 lb max
Grose weight ........ 29,240 lbs. 31,000 lb GVWR
If Im reading this correctly we are 2280 lbs below front axle weight. 480 lbs below rear axle weight and 1760 lbs below GVWR.
Over 1040 miles we averaged 9.5 mpg. 340hp 6.7L Cummins diesel.
Although the coach squats an inch or two when the BMW is attached there is no noticeable different in handling with or without the BMW.
Does anyone see anything out of place with these numbers or have any concerns about the set up?
Thanks
Chuck

I like it - good weight values and nice effort to make sure all is well
Also nice to know you found no handling differences - my only concern when adding weight behind the rear axle. Nicely done!

With your weights that close to the max I would want to get individual corner weights. A number of coaches are several hundred pounds heavier on one side than the other.

Corner weights. You are the second person to recommend getting them. Where can you get that done? Someone suggested Freight Liner down in Gaffney SC. Anywhere Else?
In regards to max weight. I don't plan to keep it fully loaded. I just had it weighed at full weight to see where I stand.

I'll second the corner weight. A few dealerships, like NIRVC, can do a 4 corner weight. I am curious about your total GVWR being 31k. If you have a 12k front rating and a 20k rear rating, I would think your GVWR should be 32k. I know the KA has a 20k front with a 20k rear and a 14k tag and the GVWR is 54k but the engine, transmission, and frame also factor into it.

I went to a local moving company and used their scales. It took a little bit of time to maneuver each corner onto the scales by itself, but it worked. They didn't even charge me for it.

I watch for unattended scales that are left on. I usually find at least one on each trip and I like to weigh whenever I can if I’m not in a hurry (which is the norm for me theses days) to see what my current load is. And when the scales aren’t in use you can take your time and do what you want including tongue and trailer weight if you have a trailer.

My understanding is there are limits to each axle but the total still has a GVWR of 31,000 lbs.
