2016/2017 MA/LA/Essex 4519 AV cabinet and Dish Hopper space

Went by Transwest today and took a few measurements. Wondering if anyone with a 2016/2017 MA/LA/EX 4519 has installed a DISH Hopper or Hopper 3 in the AV cabinet, center overhead cabinet on the passenger side.

I took some measurements against my home Hopper 3 and it looks like the Hopper is to deep (with the wireless remote antenna) and maybe to wide (with the IR control on one side and the coax board and switches on the other).

So what say those who have the combo of coach Dish Hopper.

Thanks

It does fit...yet little room to spare. Placed our Hopper on some 1" tall styrofoam (one piece under each footing) as it gets pretty warm. All the other components are Velcro-ed on top of the Hopper. Hopper and Joey work well.

Can you put it in the cabinet over the bedroom TV, like we did with our Direct TV Genie? Lot more room there.

As I read this, I began thinking, why didn't I think of this! There is definitely much more room in the rear cabinet. I will have to explore the "wiring" that goes into the back of the hopper up front to see if it is a possibility to move the hopper to the back, and put the Joey up front. I simply cannot remember if anything would prevent it. GREAT IDEA! Seems would just have to reverse the "Host" and "Client" connections on the Solo Node. Thank you! P. S. - If I were custom ordering a 4519, I would make your idea a "special" for sure!

After reviewing this photo I found online clearly showing the connections of each, looks like there is no reason it won't work. It will be SOOOOOOO much easier moving the Hopper & Joey from the house to the coach. Thank you again JM

Thanks Jay, I was thinking along the same lines. That front AV cabinet doesn't have a whole lot of room left. The LA 4519 they had on the lot also had the new KVH in motion, along with the Travl'r. Travl'r control In the front top cabinet over the driver and the KVH control in the AV cabinet so even less room.

Just a heads up on KVH and DISH/Hopper. They have had some programming issues with the in-motion kvh tracking dish satellites. I haven't had a chance to followup with them while sorting other challenges. basically when you change channels, if the new channel is on a different satellite, KVH gets lost. DISH has 3 satellites and some how the new hopper can't tell KVH which satellite to zoom in before the channels is changed. They are working on it. Best to followup with KVH tech.

The 'Wally' receiver for Dish is quite a bit smaller (I think...).

It is. And seems to run cooler than my previous 211 receiver. Best feature is the RF remote which no longer requires line of sight.

RD1 thanks for the heads up on the KVH. The LA at Transwest was setup for DirecTV but good to know since I am a DISH customer. Not totally sure I will get both, it will be a last minute decision but leaning towards just the Travl'r.
