Question 2016 Canyon Star 3710 with Sony Surround Sound system

Hi fellow Newmar owners , I have a question ....?

I have a Sony surround sound system in my coach and was wondering how the base system is set up to work. We have a tv over the front drivers/ passenger area with speakers in the ceiling. We have a TV over the fireplace with speakers in the ceiling, and we have a TV in bedroom with speakers over the bed in the ceiling. So do all tv,s go though the surround sound system or ? Right now I only seam to get the Fireplace TV to work with system ?

What should or how does the system work from factory ??

And what are the speakers for over the bed ?

2016 Newmar Canyon Star 3710

Thanks

On ours the fireplace TV is the only one the surround system is hooked up to. Our surround system in the MH sounds way better than the one in our house. The speakers in the bedroom ceiling are from the in-dash radio. There should be switches on the wall where your lights and slide out control are that can turn those speakers on/off. You can also fade the in-dash radio from front to back.

Lol....that would make sense why I could not get the front tv or bedroom tv to work with Sony system ..... and yes there is a speaker switch on wall in bedroom

Interesting

Thanks

It is not unusual for us to have the two TVs in the living area on.......

I turn off the sound off on the TV over the driver and let the surround system do its thing. It works for us....

Question

So there is no setting for front tv vs Fireplace tv ....and bedroom tv.

Just one system for TV .... and I guess the Radio tuner as well

Does dash radio go through surround sound system ?

Thanks

I recently sold my 3710, what I did was hook my Satellite receiver directly to the surround sound via a Toslink cable, so then I could use the SS with both tvs with their volume down. Worked great
As an example you could have both tv's off and listen to the sound through the SS.

I never understood the logic behind hooking up the dash radio to the bedroom speakers.

I think it was something that started back before satellite tv with music stations, and just stuck around.

Sony surrond sound.

I have A 2016 Canyon Star 3710. While I love the coach and all the features for the money I think that Newmar skimped on the sound system.
The TV over the Fireplace in the only one that plays through the sound system. The "so-called" Sub-woffer for base is mounted under the kitchen sink. The owners manual tells you how to adjust the various speakers to balance the system for your size coach and particular needs, but to do it properly you need a connection from the sound system to the TV via a HDMI cable, which Newmar did not run.
The speaker switch on the bedroom wall allows you to run the sound from the in dash stereo system. I guess someone out there must have asked for that. Not sure why.
The real pain is if you choos to run the outside TV with a DVD. You have to
step inside the the coach door and point the remote at the DVD player over the driver seat to stop and start the DVD or make any other changes.

Try hooking up your satellite sound out via a Toslink cable to the audio in of the surround sound receiver. Then the sound will play even with TV's off. So either one or both will be connected
