2016 Canyon Star ODB2 Location - Urgent
I'm having a heck of a time locating the ODB2 or ODBII port on our new to us 2016 3914. Does anyone have any pictures or knowledge of where this is located? I spent 20 mins tonight wedged under the steering column looking for it. We're heading out tomorrow for a 4 day weekend to go help a widowed friend of the family with repairs to her homestead farm house. To get there, we have to navigate two cascade mountain passes and the vantage canyon over the columbia river. I have a 5Star Tuning unit that I would sure like to get this installed first thing in the morning. Keep well & Thanks in advance for any assistance. - Nairb

When we had our CS, it just to the right of the steering column under the dash. Ours was an 18 so it might be different

First off, welcome to iRV2!
Second, you should add a "signature" to your profile. It contains whatever info you want; most people put info about their coach there, so they don't have to type it into each message. Instructions for adding a signature are here.
If Newmar did not move it, the OBDII connector is attached to the right side of the steering column, about halfway up. See page 18 of this document for a picture. A headlamp or flashlight will help you find it and make it easier to remove the two screws that hold the connector to the column.
Some folks reattach the connector to the under-lip of the dash. In the case of our coach, I opted to leave it floating in midair (as nothing was permanently attached to the connector).

On my '19 it is to the right of the steering column. Still hard to locate because it is black and has a cover.

Look to the right side of the steering column. On our BSS it is mounted under/to the dash near the doghouse.

Hi All,
Well, that's about as unanimous of an answer as I've seen! Thanks to each of you for taking a moment to provide me some guidance. I didn't see a response in time before departure - but we made the trip and were able to help her fix a few things around the farm. That CS does surprisingly well without the upgrade, so I can't wait to try it! I'll go back out to the CS and take a look on that right side this week - I'm sure it's there, and I simply didn't recognize it. Take care & Thanks! - nairB

The reason for unanimous is because it's a law that the OBDII connector be within one foot of the steering column
But its still surprising that there is consensus

On any given day the assembly line worker in charge of moving the connector from it's shipping location on the bare chassis to a visible location on the bottom of the dash ; after the coach builder installs the dash ; messes up and it's hidden.

Hi All, Just an update and we can all consider this case closed. The ODBII Port was located under the center console. Think outside of drivers right calf, under the center housing. Yep, not near the stearing column, not under the dog house, at the fire wall or tucked under dash and hidden by the wire harness, etc. Even the tech at my Newmar dealer was perplexed when I told him. We FaceTimed over it, because he was having trouble believing what I was telling him. When he saw it, he said "well that's a new one" and said it looked like a factory placement. Anyways, I guess that's what happens when the coach builders have some creative freedoms. Thanks for everyone's input. Keep well, - BR

Well, officially they don't have that creative freedom. Like I mentioned, it is an emissions requirement and law that they locate it within one foot of the steering column. That is cause for an emissions recall of all vehicles to inspect and address the location. If I were you, I would file a claim to the manufacturer for any time spent searching for the connector. They would be foolish to push back. Ask them if you should file with them or the EPA.
