2017 Bay Star Bathroom Sink ?

Our bathroom sink drain tailpiece does not fit the sink very well - it is a little higher than the lowest point of the sink so it does it drain completely. There is always about 1/8" water left. Is this normal for these sinks?

Our 3124 does not completely drain either. Glad I'm not the only one but seems odd.

Yes. This issue was reported last year on the 2016. They have it documented, know it's a problem, and have yet to fix it. I'll wager a buck, the 2018's have the same issue.

I just moved my inquiry to that thread. One person had it fixed by a factory tech, but it involved some grinding rather than a parts swap.

Our 2017 does the same thing. Will be interested if they actually come up with a fix.

I suspect they ground the ring itself to better fit down in the sink hole. The basic problem is the diameter of the ring on the drain is too large for the sink to fit properly. The responses I got early on is that the solution was a smaller ring, but they don't have one. I suspect they have hundreds or more of the ones that don't fit and will use them up before fixing the problem.

Looking at the Bay Stars on the plant tour the sinks should drain completely.

If they have indeed fixed the problem, and the fix is a different drain, the new part should be available for retrofit.

Taking our 2017 Ventana LE for warranty work next week and this is an included item. The drain tail piece leaked into the cabinet after gasket failed. Newmar sent a mobile tech who said it was a design flaw in the sink. Newmar rep assured they would fix it. I'll keep you posted

Adding some pics. I had not played with the drain yet till I saw this and went to check. I have never seen a drain operate like this before where you have to stick your finger in the used water to open it

I maybe end up with about 1/16 of water around the edges (maybe 1-1.5 inches around drain).

1st pic is with water and drain plugged.
2nd after drain opened.
3rd a little closer after drain opened showing tail-piece of drain sticking up and the water collection around it.

My lead Tech told me yesterday that they would have new parts for mine today.
They got my half bath sink draining into the gray tank rather than the black tank yesterday. All day job.
