2017 DS 4018 Custom Paint
We are getting ready to order our new Coach and was looking for some feed back on ordering custom paint. Dealer showed me there book and says you can use any of these colors, however very hard to picture, wondering if anyone has photos they could share, or comment on what to do and probably more importantly what not to do.
Also wondering why MFG are always leaning towards dark colors as opposed to a white/off white/ with some blue and gray accent colors? Thanks

If you work with Newmar they will send you renderings of your colors on the coach.
Several members here have had it done and can advise you more.

You can get purple and pink if you want! You are not limited to any standard colors. Visit the factory to get the best idea.
I like your taste in colors😀
The cost is under $1000 extra.

We ordered our 2015 DS with custom paint so I know the problem you are facing. We made the trip to the plant in Nappanee to finalize our specials and paint colours. Michelle was able to show us larger mock ups of the standard paint schemes that helped us visualize what our colours would look like. It really helped.
One thing to be aware of is that once you make your colour choices, Newmar will send you a computer schematic for you to sign off on. Unfortunately, the colours when viewed on the computer bare little resemblance to what the colours really will look like.

I agree with you on the dark colors. We are in the desert in the winter in our coach and wanted lighter colors. This is what we chose:
Exterior Colors: Skin: Eggshell, A: Light Chapagne Met. B: Salsa Red C: Labrador Black Pearl
When we spent the day with Michelle at Newmar, we looked at all the colors and combinations of the completed coaches waiting to be delivered. Although we did not see one with the light colored skin, we could see the various color options and were confident we would like what we chose. And we really do. We get a lot of positive comments.

Here is a thread I started on custom paint, someone posted a color chart hope it helps. I was told there are a lot more options to pick from, planning a factory visit soon to find out.

Cool!
I hadn't realized the custom color (existing pattern) option was fairly inexpensive (? around $1k)
Last time we did a factory tour (06/2016) there was a custom painted ALL black coach. Looked quite rock-star. Tour guide said whole coach special paint in that case was about $8k.
I wonder if it's too late to adjust our order :-)

Look up Swag a member on here, he has a really nice predominantly black coach. Pictures are in his profile.

Make it anything except light brown and dark brown with a swirl in the center and it will be a winner.

Very nice. Great contrasting colors with bold but not obnoxious graphics. $1K well spent.

Nice Colors!
We went light also. The one thing I do fully understand now is that the dark colors are likely better at hiding grime from rain and from driving. I love our white but there is definitely work involved keeping up with it.

I had a paint scheme from a Mountainaire put on my 2016 DS 4018.mostly Desert Gold. If you are not in love with black keep the colors as light as you can or the coach will become an oven. my last coach was all dark brown and in 90 degree heat all 3 A/C's ran non-stop. Just my 2 cents.

Black is the cheapest paint, red the most expensive.
