I have a friend with a problem with the heater hose on his coach bursting near the heater core and the second time in less than 1000 miles it split near the fuel tank. Cannot believe that this hose has burst twice. It’s got some miles (130k) but only 4-5 years old.

I am going to help him replace the entire length of hose, but neither Newmar or Spartan said they knew where the hose was routed.
It must run along the frame rails.
Any ideas of the route and how to access? I did not locate it in the bays when I looked this evening.

It probably is routed inside the frame rails. Just leave it there and install a new hose and attach it to structure under the floor. Easy to do.

Looks like that is what we will do, unless further investigation allows us to R&R the hose to OE placement.
The new hose is substantially more robust!

I replaced my heater hose over the summer , unfortunately , Freightliner zip tied the hose to the wiring harness in a number of places .
After freeing the hose from the harness , I attached the new hose to the old using 11/16" wooden dowel ( 5/8"hose ) and short wood screws and dragged the new hose along the frame .

In our 04 Essex in the first 2 years we had 3 different times we had heater hose burst in the cabinet and spent hours on the side of the road blocking off heater hose to be able to drive coach. The hose that burst was marked Standard Grade which is the lowest grade hose you can get. Replaced all heater hose plus used gate valves to shut of coolant blow plus marine grade green strip hose. Spent 1200 dollars and forty hours. BIG BIG job. Couldn't believe either Newmar or Spartan would but low grade heater hose in the frame rail on the Essex.

Use Gates green stripe hose it will out last the RV more than likely

Thank you for the tip. Still haven’t worked on the heater hose as we are chasing an Oasis leak, possibly the boiler. [emoji853]
