2017 LA questions

Hey all, We recently purchased a 2017 LA 4553 and now that we are all moved in finally and really having time at looking at things I have a few questions hopefully someone can help with.

1. There is a small round black push button next to the door, basically under the arm switches but on the forward edge. What is that?.....lol

2. Does anyone know how to use or operate the WIFI Ranger system? I think it is factory, but I don't even know that. Might have been install by previous owner. It is lit up like it works, beyond that I have no idea.

3. Is there anyway on a 17 to control heat/AC or to monitor this coach from a phone?

4. Is there any SL module or anything to add so that I have a door lock button and function on the SL panels?

I think that's it for now...lol Appreciate any help possible.

Your WiFiRanger system was, almost certainly, installed at the factory.

A comprehensive user guide for it can be found here: User Guide

Link is a SL Rosie upgrade that they did. That will give you remote ac/heat access if you have internet at the coach.

The black button is a reset for the steps if they do not retract or extend to the proper position.

Donít know about the door locks.

Would suggest checking the slide out motor bolts on both the kitchen and bedroom slides. You Tube video on checking these bolts and locations could save you a lot of trouble and money

Per Newgle the TriMark keyless entry unit in your 2017 LA is the same unit that was in our 2018 New Aire, which was accessible through Silverleaf. I tried to enable the locks in Silverleaf in a friendís 2017 LA. Could be enabled in the Silverleaf screen but did not activate the locks. It likely needed to be connected to the Silverleaf RV-C communications bus. Not sure if Newmar has extra connections in the dash area and we ran out of time to find out.

Enabling on the 2019 LA was easy as it was already cabled to the comm bus.

You should be able to access the Silverleaf advanced screens to enable the lock button in the SL panel. I did on my 2018 MADP. I donít recall exactly what I changed, but if you cannot figure it out I can access mine tomorrow.

I found it in SL and changed it to enabled, but it didn't change anything, nor did it place the button on the home screen. I suspect there needs to be a connection made, or a module added. I will give SL a call tomorrow and see what they say.

If you select Features and then Component Versions, it will ping every RV-C address (255) and display info on what RV-C device is at that address. If the locks controller is connected to the RV-C network there will be an entry for Trimark.

Did this, and let it set for 5 min or so. A hand full showed on the screen and I never figured out a way to scroll to see any others. Maybe I didn't let it set long enough.

Once the screen is full of entries, a More button will appear to overlay the additional entries. If the More button doesnít show up, then only the components listed on the one page are connected to the RV-C network. The command takes about 15 seconds or so.
