Having to replace start batteries on the road. Will any group 31, 950-1000 CCA threaded post work? any particular brand best? any to stay away from? availability could be a problem. Am in Traverse City, MI.

I changed mine back in the spring, used NAPA commercial battery with the threaded terminals.

I'm just replacing mine as well. My SIL was the shop manager for an OTR trucking firm for over 20 yrs. He swore by NAPA Commercial or Interstate, so I got the NAPA Commercial made by East Penn Mfg. Mfg pn 1131MF. 950 CCA. 1170 CA. 18 month 100% replacement. Threaded studs center top ends. Sealed lead acid.
I'm replacing the original 11 yo Alliance batteries that are just showing signs of weakening, so clearly those did pretty well.
