2018 Bay Star - LED Ceiling Lights Flickering

We have a problem with the recessed LED Ceiling Lights in our 2018 Bay Star 3124. About half of the ceilingblights have started to flicker and in each fixture the issue is with half of the LED diodes. As shown in attached photo half of the diodes go from dim (as photographed) to full intensity and then back to a dim condition.

Is there a known problem with these fixtures and I need tonreplace all of them or is something else going on?

Common problem. I have replaced 8 so far. I buy 4 at a time now. This post has a repair kit and a light replacement. I haven't tried the repair kit yet, was hoping someone would report how they match.

My understanding from Newmar is that the newer puck lights cannot be repaired, only replaced. Iíve replaced about a dozen so far on my 2018 VTDP and always keep a few spares on board. Nothing more annoying than flickering pucks!

i have a 2017. I have also replaced about 6. Most have been in the bathroom or kitchen where the humidity is higher. I think that the circuitry in the lights are not sealed. I have one now that needs replace in the dining area.

I believe Newmar has changed suppliers, as I can see a slight difference in the original and replacement LEDs.

Eventually, the light will quit flickering, and only half the light will be on. In this case, I just swap that LED with one from the bedroom where there is plenty of light.

I need to order more, as I will use my last one.

Are you ordering directly from Newmar, through a Newmar Dealer, or through a third party supplier on the internet

2 have completely died this trip and I need to start replacing. Also, I haven't taken one apart yet to investigate replacement options so do they simply plug into a harness or do I have to solder or add mechanical connectors to install the new pucks?

I order direct from Newmar. They are about $10 each. They are common to many motor homes though so you could probably find them on the internet for less.

They are wired in using what is called a "scotch clip" which allows in-line 12V connection. Use a spoon or butter knife to leverage out the old puck. If you are careful, the existing scotch clip can be re-used. You can google to see how these clips work, they are pretty easy to use and require only a a pair of pliers to crimp and maybe a screwdriver to assist with removing the clip from the old fixture.

I have this same issue with lights flickering on my 2018 Bay Star - are you guys ordering these pucks from Newmar? finding the proper replacement in the Newmar catalogue is very confusing and the manuals that come with the MH are not very helpful

I usually end up calling Newmar parts, as they sometimes change suppliers. Also, they use two different lights depending if they are in the ceiling or bottom of a cabinet. The cabinet ones they call mousetrap as they have a spring clamp that hold them in.

The hard part is getting them out. The electrical connection is easy. Just use a very small flat blade screwdriver to pry up the metal blade connector. Take note when reinstalling the metal blade, the feed wire is bigger, so it uses the bigger cut out. I have always been able to reuse it.

Newmar replaced 42 of them on my 2018 DS. They know they installed defective LED modules.

Thanks everyone. I contacted Newmar on Monday and sent them pictures of the affected fixtures' date codes and received word today the the manufacturer is covering the defect and shipping me 32 new lights.

Now I need to remove all of them carefully without tearing the vinyl roof
