I had Dometic come out yesterday, they aren't equipped to do anything here in Sedalia sadly and neither of the two guys that came out could tell me the procedure to unclog (has something to do with disconnect power, which I did but getting the valve open to plunge is not known). They gave me the number to call if it happens again, the macerator is not supposed to clog! If it happens again it will have to wait until my next visit to Newmar.

Long story longer, be careful what you wish for, that gravity toilet may actually be a gem in disguise.

Thanks Neal. I suppose I can put up with it for 6 or 7 months.

Bill do you know if the 1/2 bath toilet on all of the 18s was changed to the pedal type?

Look at your floorplan diagram very closely...
The macerator toilets have a rounded front like a U, the foot pedals are sharper and look more like a V.
Don't know how I missed that.

Thanks Bill, just looked, seems like the 4052 and the 4327 are the only two, seems strange that just the two are that way

We were at the factory for 2 days last week. Took factory tour both Monday and Tuesday mornings. I saw one complete 4327 with a beautiful paint job completed and ready for shipment to Canada. In addition, I saw 2 others being built on the production line. It is certainly a great new floor plan.

On my CS 3710 both were pedal type of of course, didn't know of anything else so they were fine. The PITA was that each toilet had its own black tank, one dump valve all of the way in the back DS storage compartment and one with a dump valve connected to the grey valve in the normal wet bay location.

Found a good replacement. The Dometic 4310. It's a non macerator wall switch model. Under $1300. That's almost as much as the macerator. Something to think about.

Also you 4327 guys, there is no wall clock like in the brochure. Apparently we don't need one. You gotta laugh at some of this stuff...

Obviously these are the risks of being an early adopter. Woe is me...

Stuart, I find that kind of an odd design. PITA I would agree. Dumping time would be inconveniently longer, and a lot of hooking and unhooking I'd think.

May I ask, how did you flush the rear most black tank? Was there a SanTflush inlet back there too, like in the wet bay?

.

it was a PITA, I would sometimes have to pull forward to dump the rear black tank and because it was all of the way in the back, it wasn't always down hill to the drain. Yes the wet bay had two flush hookups to flush the two black tanks. The only good thing was the over 80 gallons of black tank capacity.

85 gallons black
65 Grey
75 fresh
Which always seemed like not enough fresh water to make sense of the holding tank sizes
