I agree Neal, the more complaints the better, like I said if they start replacing them in numbers under Warranty it will trigger a recall.

For those who have had the shocks replaced, why was the labor charge? I’ve been quoted $550, labor only.

That is crazy, in my discussions with Spartan they told me they get one hours labor. I did it on the ground in less than one hour. If I had a rack I could have done them both in 30 minutes

I got under there and they look like shocks to me. Two bolts each. These guys in Greensboro NC must charge 500 bucks an hour? No labor hours quoted, just the amount. I was gonna get my oil changed too!
Thanks Stuart..,

Willipaul’s price is more inline. Bill unfortunately these shops probably take advantage of les Knowledgeable, older RVers. Sad! Shame on them.

yeah, that's just nuts....

must be trying to make a buck on someone passing through...

do you look like you just fell off a potato truck ?

my apt with my local shop is may 9th to do a check ride with a camera on board...last i was told it's me, the shop manager, and a tech...

i have a dash cam....they have not told me what the procedure will be, if it's their camera or mine, where it is mounted, who is driving, etc etc, but i have a 12 mile loop picked out that is the best combination of surfaces to bring the problem out....still not anywhere near as bad as some bridges in FL or the NJ turnpike, but it's the best around here...

No mater where they want their camera, you can also film and insist on your route.

Here is a useful link where anyone with a vehicle safety concern (such as out of control bouncing due to week shocks) can fill out a form alerting the NHTSA of the concern so they can start an investigation, a lot of time this information leads to recalls.
https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

$225 each for the heavy duty shocks. $150 labor to install. If you have a new 43 footer on a Spartan chassis, you really should have this done. It's a world of difference in the ride. It's now the way it should be.

Absolutely agree, it is a very noticeable improvement

Bill just for clarification can you list the part number for the HD shocks. I am picking up our 4327 next month from Midway RV and I am thinking I should have them change it out when I pick it up and be done.

I don't have the paperwork for the new ones, but those removed were marked

24-252881These are the soft ones. I think Stuart W can shed more light.
