2019 Baystar 3401

I was looking at the 3401 and wonder who out there have one and have you feel about the tight space to get to the rear bed with the slide in? Also, the cabinets on the side wall. They seem like they have less interior space but can they handle cereal boxes or things of similar size? Any other thoughts or comments would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance !

On our 2012 Bay Star, you can't walk around the bed with the slideout in nor access the drawers below the wardrobes and counter. For us, it isn't an issue because we usually stop at campgrounds and can extend the slideout. If you want to do a lot of stopping at Walmarts or other locations where it isn't appropriate to put out the slide, then you may want to look for a different floor plan.

For us, we have easy access to the bathroom and kitchen with the slides in, and we could even sleep on the bed with the slide out and....I'd be the one crawling overtop my DW to access the bathroom at night!! And, if we had to, we could quickly extend the slide out to access needed items out of the drawers.

Scbwr.....I meant how is it getting back to the rear bed. I understand I would be able to move around much once I reach it but it seemed to me that dying to get to it might be really difficult. Thanks for your reply

Also, I was specifically referring to the 3401. I really like that floor plan but with the full wall slide in the space just past the bath toward the bed looks REALLY narrow

I can't recall the dealer, but there was a video on YouTube showing off a 2018 3401. With the slides in, the "choke point" seemed to be bathroom/wardrobe area. The guy in the video wasn't exactly skinny, but he had no problem getting into the bedroom area, bathroom, etc.

Now, you might not be carrying your significant other back there, but you could certainly drag them.

And FWIW, I placed an order for a 2019 3401. I also spoke to a couple at Hershey who had a 2016 (IIRC) and they love it.

Mount Comfort does some pretty good videos on new Newmars. Here is the 2018 3401 Baystar video.

I know some of these can be tight when closed, but remember we buy these to camp in when opened up. Yes there may be a rare occasion when we need to use them while closed, but that is a rare occasion.
