2019 DS 4369 BIM Upgrade

I am preparing to switch from AGM to Lithium house batteries in the near future. Part of that upgrade will be swapping out the factory BIM to the newer Lithium BIM from Precision Circuits. The current BIM has the battery connections at the top of the device and the new BIM is on the face of the device. Has anyone in the group done a similar upgrade? If so was there sufficient slack in the two battery cables to connect to the new BIM (which will be oriented upside down)? If not how did you make the connection (I am assuming a short cable extension will be necessary)?

Thanks in advance for your input!

What year is your DS? I have not done this yet on my Ventana. But I’m also planning it out. In my case, my current regular BIM is shaped identical to the LI-BIM.

I also had to mount it upside down but was able to make the cables reach by pulling them out a bit.

I also had to extend one of the thin wires to make it reach. You may notice one wire color in my pic does not match what you have…

Glad you got it mounted. I’m not sure it makes a difference but since you mounted it upside down, the chassis battery terminal was flipped with the house battery terminal. Since the LI-BIM acts differently by toggling the alternator charge to the house batteries, I’m not sure if this is regulated with a specific directional flow of charge. So I’m not sure if the battery terminal cables can be reversed or not.

Great point, but fortunately by flipping the li-BIM, you are actually keeping the hookup consistent. See below “before” pic and where the cables connected and you will see that the coach and chassis connections are in the same place as before.
