2019 Dutchstar 4369 passenger seat

I cannot get it to work, the fuse is ok, I swapped the driver seat fuse just to make sure. I can see a female wire fitting laying loose under the seat, cannot see a male fitting, cannot get my hands up under there, the foot rest on the chair is electric, cannot raise it, not sure how to get to it, could that loose wire just be for another option that this bus does not have ? It is a fairly large fitting, maybe 1/2 inch wide and tall. Tried to take some of the chair skirting loose but could not figure it out, was afraid i was going to beak something, guess I will have to take in to repair shop, no telling how far backed up they are.

If the seat got turned around the wrong way it could have pulled or more wires loose. I had to partially disassemble mine to find the problem and get the wiring back where it belongs.

Our new rule of thumb is “always turn the seat away from the window - never towards” . That way the wiring can’t get wrapped around the pedestal and stressed or broken.

Just a guess. The loose wire could be for heated seats if they were not optioned.

Just experienced this last week on our way to Nappanee . Wife just put the foot rest down and entire passenger chair stopped working.
All functions dead.
I also had that female plug unattached under the front part of the chair, but that’s a dummy plug and doesn’t get plugged in anywhere.
Stuck it on our work order and turned out to be a wire had rubbed the coating off and grounding out. Tech just wrapped it. Charged me a half our labor.

You do have some access by lifting the rear skirt and removing the two pan head screws you see.
This allows you to lift and remove the rear and sides shroud.

I tried to remove that shroud but could not get it to come loose, was afraid I would break it, may have to give it another try. If a wire was shorting out would the fuse be blown ? We have those fuses that can be reset, I could not tell if they were tripped so I swapped the fuses and the driver seat still worked.

I just had this happen as well. My tech (Norman) in Nappanee told me that the switch can go bad in the control unit under the chair. But, the symptoms you describe were exactly what we had.

There is also an inline fuse under the front of the chair that you can check.
On the shroud, once you remove the two screws in the back, the shroud is a U shaped unit. Grabbing the
side of the shroud, gently bend it.
Each front side of the shroud will have two clips that are held just by tension.
