2019 DutchStar Centramatics

Has anyone ordered and installed centramatics on the 2019 freightliner chassis? I would like to know the size and/or part number installed.

This may also apply to the 2018.

Is the passive tag considered a steer axle for the purpose of centramatic? I know the wheel is turned the same direction as the steer, but it is drum and not disc, so that may make a difference.

As a follow up, I would like to know if the steer wheel bolt circle is a 10.75 or 11.25"?

I sent Freightliner an email and received this response regarding bolt pattern:

They are all 285.75 mm or 11.25"

The dual is different because it's bigger (size - balancing two tires) than the tag. I put them on all three axles 4 years ago, but don't recall which numbers I used. I would call Centramatic for the proper fitment and then order from Florida Shores Truck Center.

My coach is gone, but you just need someone to measure across the lug nuts for the bolt pattern. I think it's 10.75.

"redbaron73"....If you get the Centramatic numbers figured out, would you please post. It will save me the time of looking them up again. I was going to pull the ones off of the 2014, but just didn't have the energy.

I intend to add them and EVO shocks on the front immediately.

I have the part numbers for the Front and Drive axles confirmed. I am waiting for freightliner to confirm the type of drum brake on the tag, as this will determine the proper part number for that. I am not going to post anything for the passive tag until that is confirmed, just to prevent bad data.

That being said, the part numbers below are based on the following data:

* All axles are 22.5 in rims, 10 studs, 285.75 mm or 11.25"
* Front Steer axle is disc brakes with tire size 365/70
* Both rear axles are drum brakes, with tire size 315/80
* Drive Dually wheels turned inward (opposite of steer)
* Passive steer tag has the wheel turned outward like the front steer tires.

Centramatic Wheel Balancer Part Numbers:
FRONT SET OF 2 PART NUMBER 700-720
DRIVE SET OF 2 PART NUMBER 600-640

I need to plan for the failure of that system. If the Active air fails, then I want the coach to be able to travel in legacy mode. May as well have the tires balanced in legacy mode.

Also, while traveling in Active Air mode, the brakes are not applied, so the wheels will spin. With Centramatics, there won't be any wobble, which could cause unnecessary rocking.

I am still trying to decide on the EVO right away or not. Doing it on the front seems logical. The rear were such a pain, not sure I want to go thru that again. I will probably wait for you to install, and piggy back off your feedback and part numbers.

Thanks Don - Didn't realize that I was able to save money by buying from Florida. Crazy thing is Centramatics is 5 miles from my home, and I have always purchased direct. They only sell at full retail, although they do give free installation when you purchase direct. Since I am going to have them installed in Nappanee, the savings is the way to go. I saved about $80 going to Florida Shores. Appreciate the tip.

Thanks for the part numbers.

Installing the front shocks is a breeze, 20 minutes.

Unless you pull the rear duals, the rear shocks are a nightmare. I actually jacked the coach way up on the jacks and used a wrench, strapped to a pipe, to get the top mounts off.....my arms just weren't long enough.

Don, be safe and call Centramatic directly in case something has changed. Great folks and will install for free if you buy from them and are in the Dallas area.
