2019 MA and LA windows dont open! WHAT?!

Just got back from the Hershey RV show and was SHOCKED to learn that 2019 Mountain Aire and higher DO NOT have windows that open in the living room nor dining room!!!! It's just a big pane of glass. AND there is NO OPTION to get windows that open. Was told that "the industry" is moving towards "Non-ventilated windows" in luxury coaches.
Is it me or is that the dumbest thing you've ever heard?!?!
Why not at least make it optional?

The window that we have at the dinette in the kitchen is open quite a bit of the time. Windows that don’t open would be a non-starter for us.

My guess is, it is another cost cutting measure?

Actually it is a trend of sorts. Newells cost over $2 million and don’t have windows that open. I guess people like the unobstructed views. However, when we ordered our 2018 King Aire we specified opening windows and got them with no problems. I’m sure that, while maybe not a standard option, they can be specified.

We were recently up in Napanee and there was a 2019 King Aire being prepped for transit with windows that could be opened rather than the full pane glass. Assume it was a special.

Newell will build it anyway you want. They certainly do have windows that open, not on all coaches but it’s just a matter of asking for what you want.

I would be on board with this and given the option likely go with non opening windows if it provided better site lines and less leak (air or water) potential. My air runs most of the time, and if I need to ventilate the coach, as long as there are still some windows front and rear to open and turn on the vents, that should provide airflow when that's needed.

I’m a big fan of customization; wouldn’t even look at a coach with fixed windows. I could understand one big picture window somewhere; preferably with side lights that did open.

For 2 million bucks I'm pretty sure that you could get windows that scratch your butt pretty hard to believe they couldn't be ordered or custom made

I was in Hershey today also. I liked the look of the windows. They looked bigger although they probably aren’t. I guess if you want fresh air it will have to be the windows at the end of the sides. The kitchen window is making a come back also.

Here is another thread on this subject. I actually changed my windows out to the non opening as they weren't available when I ordered back in 2016. http://www.irv2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=403056

I was told it was a styling attempt to fall in line with the "higher end" coach market like the Newell and such. The new non opening do have a much better view. As for us, we're fresh air people if the temp isn't blistering.

Our Prevost has 3 very large windows that open. They also serve as emergency exits so they're front/back and on each side. There must be some windows that will open to serve as an emergency exit??

We are not always able to camp where there is electricity available and really want/need fresh air ventilation when off the grid. In fact, I am dissatisfied with the amount of air we get with the flush-mount windows that we have and most DP's are using these days. Much preferred the old sliding style windows such as Tiffin uses that provide much more air.
