2019 Refrigerator Filter (Good price)

When we bought our 2019 coach and was doing the walk through, the tech noted to treat the refer filter like gold. He said they're very expensive. I checked tonight as I like to keep a spare. From Whirlpool, it was $68.00, Amazon was almost $50.00. This is ridiculous for a refer filter. I kept checking and finally found a website (below) that had them for $21.50 each when you buy two. You can buy any number up to four. Here is the website.

Unless they changed the refrigerator, Red Barons is the same one I ordered for my 18 DS

My MH has a built-in residential water filter that is at least as good as the one in the fridge. After I discovered that the replace filter light on my GE fridge was based on time and had no relationship to usage I decided to use the bypass gadget and eliminate the filter altogether. The ice maker continues to work just fine.

Don, both your part and the one I posted are for a W10295370*

These cross reference to a lot of models. The part you posted and what I posted are identical, only the amazon is cheaper.

One is an OEM filter and the others are “compatible” filters. I have found numerous differences in the filtration capabilities of the OEM (Whirlpool in my case) as compared to the after market filters. Just be sure to compare apples to apples before you purchase....

I also have a WH filter as do most Newmar coaches, however I would never consider not keeping a good filter in my frig. Being full time I could see problems down the road with either the thin line feeding the ice maker or the ice maker itself.

The Samsung in my MH didn't even come with a filter and the GE in our casita in TX has one that regularly claimed it needed replacement every six months regardless of whether or not we were there or were traveling. I'll take my chances. JMO

FWIW, the filters we're discussing are at the ~5 micron level. The "thin" water line going to your ice maker is typically quarter inch. There's simply no relationship. If something is blocking the water line it would be "huge" compared to what the filter is removing from the water.

you might want to clean your glasses. The ref. filter is .5 not 5 micron. they also always have carbon block for a better tasting ice cube, removes the chlorine, that keeps the whiskey much smoother.
It is a belt and suspender but does have a use.
