2020 coach order waiting time
We placed an order for a 2020 Dutch Star 3736 on 30th of Sept, dealer is telling us to expect delivery in mid Feb of 2020, 4.5 months seems like a considerable lead time to me. Last coach I ordered from Newmar in 2007 was ordered in mid Aug 07. and we took delivery on 31 Oct 07., this was during the RV down turn/recession when Newmar was only working 3 or 4 days a week, which may have been a factor.
Anyone who has ordered a 2020 model coach we would be curious as to how long you had to wait from time of order to delivery. Thanks in advance to any and all replies.

I ordered a MADP 4018 on Aug. 8. It is now complete and will leave factory this week. Hopefully we will pickup at dealer next week. So 3 months wait.
I think they schedule and build retail sold coaches first once the order and specials are finalized. The original completion date before we finalized the order was off line mid Nov.

When I ordered my 2019, the delivery date depended on availability. When we ordered in August, the dealer had a Spartan Chassis available in February and a Freightliner available the first week of November. To me, not that much of a difference to wait an additional 4 months.
If you do factory pickup, that adds three weeks.
Your dealer had to order all of his coaches by a certain date. He knows exactly when they'll be delivered. Ours was suppose to arrive November 6, 2019. I figured with weather and other variables, it would be in around the 10th or 11th....nope, arrived November 6th.
Unless there is some big issue at the factory and it has to shut down, the deliveries are pretty exact.

We ordered our 2020 Dutch Star 4081 with a Spartan Chassis, 23 options and 16 specials (once the order was final) on June 5, 2020 and just received it on October 18, 2020. Pretty close to 4.5 months.

what line you are ordering also matters....
the DS one of the most popular lines...and dealers want to use their slots for inventory for the lot, as well as special orders...so it takes longer....
i ordered my coach june 1st 2017 and took delivery sept 25th 2017.....
i am now looking at a 2020 4020, and dealers are saying order now, and maybe end of FEB, most likely, MAR 2021

Five months on the dot for our 2018 MADP from dealer order to delivery. If a dealer has an uncommitted slot for the model and chassis you want, it can go a bit quicker.

our 2020 Essex has been 4.5 months so far. 2 weeks ago it finished waiting on shipping. Today it's waiting on 1 cabinet door due in today but has to be finished so at least another 2 weeks

Doesn't it depend to a degree on the slots and date he has available for your model you wish to order? You want it sooner check with another dealer.
