2021 Canyon Star vs Winnebago 34T

Ok, here we go..................................
Trying to decide on paper which Class A would be easier to drive on trips.

Either the pusher or puller?

I've never driven one before so any comments/suggestions will be appreciated. Hopefully, someone with a 2021 Newmar Canyon Star will chime in.......
Newmar looks like they have more stuff than the Winnabago 34T and we like both sizes. Don't know much about them so can't make any good judgement. Thanks for any comments!......................................... ........................Diesel

Look at floor plans and the weight limits for cargo and towing very carefully as part of your comparison.

Having owned a DP prior to my Canyon Star - I would say the Winnie DP will be quieter. No mater what type engine up front - you will have more engine noise.

And I don 't believe the Canyon Star will have air bags on all axels.

Just thinking out loud......

We love our Bay Star but a DP is going to be better for ride comfort and engine noise. The difference is the upfront cost and maintenance/repair cost.

Full time or extensive use and high miles, I would go with the DP. For casual use, the gas model can be less expensive and meet your needs at the same time.

A 5 second search of Freightliners website shows that it has air ride suspension on all AXLES.

Might want to double check that...

I saw a video about the new Canyon Star FRED that said it had an air ride rear suspension and a sprung front suspension...

Watch 1:39 thru 1:49...

Here is the spec sheet on the MC chassis used by Newmar.

The Softek suspension appears to be a spring based suspension.

I was intrigued by the Canyon Star when first announced, but for the money, Id look to a DP for the full air ride suspension.

I'm leaning to the full air ride......the DP seems to be the better deal.

I will say I favor Newmar when it comes to construction of their walls vs many other brands. With that in mind have you considered a Kountry Star?

The Kountry Star looks good also.
